THE ECOFLOW RIVER PORTABLE POWER STATION

How long does it take to charge the River? The EcoFlow River portable power station supports three charging methods, including AC charging, car charging and solar charging.

  1. AC Charging – AC Charge Voltage: AC 220-240V (50Hz/60Hz) (for Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, China, etc.)  AC Charge Power: X-Stream Super Charging 250W Max Charging Time: 1.6 hours.
  2. Car Charging Car Charger: 12V/24V, DC 8A (Max) Charging Time: 3 hours.
  3. Solar Charging Solar Charger: 200W, 10-25V, DC 12A (Max) Charging Time: 1.6-3 hours (110W x 2) 2.4 – 5 hours (160W x 1).
What should I do when the charging power is low? Check if the Quiet Charging is enabled in the app. If it is, disable it. The charging power is correlated with the battery’s State of Charge (SoC). When the value of SoC is close to 0% or 100%, it is normal that the charging power is low.
Can I use my River while charging it? Yes. The River supports discharging while connected to an AC outlet , a car charger or a solar panel. However, when the device battery is critically low or about to run out, it is better not to use it while connected to a DC charger (solar/car charging). At this time, if the outlet power is lower than or equal to the output power, the device will continue to consume power, which may cause the battery to perform insufficiently, and eventually damage the battery.
Why is my River not charging to 100%?
  1.  Make sure that the battery setting function in the app is set to 100%.
  2. Conduct SoC calibration, and fully discharge and charge the battery.
What other devices can I use to charge my River? Apart from your home AC outlet, car charger and solar panel, you can also charge your River with a generator or inverter as long as it can provide 220-240V (50Hz/60Hz) AC power, and output sine wave through River’s AC output port. While charging the River, you should ensure that the AC outlet power is higher than 300W. If the Quiet Charging is enabled, ensure that the outlet power is higher than 140W.
Why is my River not charging? Possible causes and solutions:

  1.  The charge temperature is too high. The charge temperature of the River is between 0℃ and 45℃. If you have used the River with high wattage appliances for a long time, please charge it after it cools down.
  2. The charge temperature is too low. The charge temperature of the River is between 0℃ and 45℃. If the ambient temperature is too low and the cell temperature is lower than 0℃, please move the River to a warmer place.
  3. The charging voltage or current is too low. Please charge the device according to the charging standard specified in Question 1.
  4. Change the charging method or cable. For example, if solar charging doesn’t work, but car charging does, it means that the solar panel or MC4 cable is broken. You can try charging the River again with another MC4 cable or solar panel.
  5. In case of a firmware update failure before the charging failure, you can re-update the firmware in the app.
Why is my River still in a charging state when it’s 100% charged? The battery level indicator turns to 100% while it continues to charge for a while until it’s fully charged.

How do I use the Smart Extra Battery? Remove the four screws at the bottom and connect the Smart Extra Battery. Please note that after connecting a Smart Extra Battery, the product’s battery capacity becomes 576 Wh.

Why is my River Max battery draining so fast?
  1.  Check if there are any high-power electrical appliances connected. The River Max battery capacity is 576Wh. Normally, if the power of connected electrical appliances is 576W , the River Max battery will run out in about 1 hour.
  2. If the AC Power Button stays on, even if there is no electrical appliances connected, the River Max battery will run out in a day due to its own power consumption.
  3. You can discharge the battery to 0% and recharge it to 100% to calibrate the SoC.
What do I do when the fan noise is too loud? Confirm whether the app has been updated to the latest firmware. If not, please update it. If the fan noise is still loud after the update it means that the fan speed is determined by the device’s temperature and is operating normally. It is designed to cool down and protect your device. The noise won’t affect product use. If you want to reduce the fan noise when the River Max is charging, please use the app and tap System-Quiet Charging. In this way, the charging power will be lowered, the charging speed is reduced to one-fifth of its original speed, and the rise of battery temperature slows down, thereby delaying the fan from starting.
Why is the fan not spinning? The fan only starts when the built-in inverter temperature is higher than 75℃, the battery temperature is higher than 45℃, and the car charger temperature is higher than 85℃. If the fan does not turn, maybe it’s because the operating temperature is not high enough. You can let the device run for a while and then check the fan. If the fan hasn’t been working for a long time, you can try using a high-power electrical appliance and check if the fan works when the temperature on LCD screen exceeds 45℃.
How do I update the firmware? Long press the IOT Button for 3 seconds, the Wi-Fi status icon flashes and the Wi-Fi is on. Connect your phone to the River Max Wi-Fi. Launch the app, tap the top right “+” icon to add the device. Connect to your home router Wi-Fi or other phone hotspot, then tap System-Firmware-Update, the River Max will update automatically. If “Firmware-Update” is not showing in the app, it means that the connection to your home router has failed. You can long press the IOT Button for 3 seconds and reconnect. If the app update stops half way, you can restart the River Max, reconnect the River Max Wi-Fi and your home router, and try updating again.
What does X-Boost do? With EcoFlow X-Boost technology, the River Max AC invertor can power electrical appliances with a rated power of 600W-1800W and avoid operation failure due to overload protection. For a better usage experience we recommend that you use 1200w max electrical appliances.
How do I turn off the X-Boost function? Connect the River Max with the app, tap AC—X-Boost to disable it.
What is the best way to use the X-Boost? X-Boost is enabled by default. It can be changed on the app.  It is not available when recharging. When using it for electrical appliances with a rated power of 600W to 1800W, it is recommended to use only one appliance at a time to avoid voltage fluctuations.
What is the battery capacity? 576Wh (160,000mAh)
What is the battery cycle life? 80% capacity after 500+ cycles.
How do I maintain and store the battery?
  1. Please use or store the product in an environment temperature between 20°C to 30°C, away from water, heat, and other metal objects.
  2. For long-term storage, please discharge the battery to 30% and recharge it to 60% every three months; products that have not been charged and discharged for more than 6 months will not be covered by the free product warranty.
  3. For safety, please do not store the product in an environment temperature higher than 45°C or lower than -10°C for a long time.
  4. To prolong the battery life, please use the product in an environment temperature between 20°C to 30°C.
How do I do a SoC calibration? Please calibrate the SoC by discharging the product to 0% and recharging it to 100%.
What is the charging power of the solar panel? Solar charging outlet: 200W, 10-25V, DC 10A (Max) Charging Time: 1.6-3 hours (110W x 2).
Can I charge my River Max with a third-party solar panel? The River Max supports universal MC4 ports. By connecting the Car Charger to a MC4 port, the River Max can be compatible with most solar panels on the market. We recommend that you use the solar panels with 200W max charging power, 10-25V outlet, and DC 10A max current.
Does the solar panel support series connection and parallel? For EcoFlow solar panels(110W), up to 2 sets can be connected in parallel. Series connection is not supported. For parallel connection, you need to buy the MC4 Parallel Connection Cable separately. For third-party solar panels of the same wattage lower than 110W, 10-25V outlet and DC 10A max current, they can be connected in parallel. According to the specific specifications , they can support both parallel connection and series connection. However, we don’t recommend that you connect solar panels of different wattage at the same time.
Why is the solar panel not working?
  1. The solar panel must be placed outdoors for use. If placed indoors, it won’t work.
  2. Check if there is any error prompt on the LCD Screen. If there is, follow the prompt to solve the problem.
  3. Check the connection status by removing and reconnecting it.
  4. Only solar panels with 10-25V outlet and DC 10A max current can be connected in parallel. Check if the voltage and current of the connected solar panels is within the range and whether the positive and negative poles are connected reversely.
  5. If you are using a third-party connection cable, the cable length should not exceed 3 m. If it is longer than 3 m, you can change it to one with a diameter of 6.5 mm and a wire diameter of 4 mm². Otherwise the charging won’t work.
  6. Check if you can charge the River Max with the Car Charger. If does, it means that the solar panel has connection issues or other problems.
Why is the charging power of my solar panel so weak? If you are connecting an EcoFlow solar panel, the charging power may be influenced by sunlight intensity and angle:

  • You can use the solar panel between 9:00am and 3:00pm when the sun’s rays are strongest. Avoid using it on a cloudy day or put it at a shady place.
  • Place the solar panel at 90° to the sunlight so that the equivalent area is the largest, and the solar charging power is higher.
  • Check if the Quiet Charging on the app is on.
Why did my River Max turn off automatically? If the AC and DC button is turned off with no outlet or other load access for 120 minutes. The product will automatically shut down.  You can adjust the standby time on the app.

Why is the actual use time of my electrical appliance less than the time shown on Delta’s LCD screen? As the power of each electrical appliance is different, the discharge efficiency of the Delta is less than 100%. Hence, the actual use time of electrical appliances may be shorter than the theoretical time. The discharge efficiency should be calculated based on the actual power of your appliances.
Why is my Delta battery draining so fast? Check if there are any high-power electrical appliances connected. The Delta’s battery capacity is 1260Wh. Normally, if the power of connected electrical appliances is 1260W, the Delta’s battery will run out in about 2 hours.

You can discharge the battery to 0% and recharge it to 100% to calibrate the SoC.

Does the Delta have an app function? The Delta does not support an app function.
